Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – Assisted self practice
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic form of hatha yoga.
In this type of yoga each movement of our body is linked with our breath, so we practise moving in tune with our breath. Each body/breath movement is called a Vinyasa. We encourage our mind to be in the present by counting the Vinyasa as we move, so the practice becomes a moving meditation or mindfulness in action – moment to moment awareness.
Through the practise of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga we bring focus and calm to the mind whilst strengthening and stretching the body.
What is Assisted Mysore Style?
In an assisted Mysore style class we individually practice within a group setting. We come to class and go through the Asthanga vinyasa sequence and additional postures are included as our bodies become stronger and more flexible. Allowing us to move at our own pace. The teacher can give us verbal and physical adjustments for our body with additional practice guidance. It can be like having a one-to-one within a group setting.
This type of yoga can be for all levels, from beginners to more experienced yoga practitioners. We regularly run introductory courses to Asthanga. Please contact us for more information:-
